MEDIATION IMPACT

Mediation allows you to restore a broken relationship in a quick, cost effective and sustainable way.

Mediation is an effective way of resolving a conflict without the need to go to court. It involves an independent third party - a mediator - who helps both sides come to an agreement.

Before turning to mediation, Caroline started her professional life as a consultant in corporate communication and then specialised on social crisis communication issues within a corporate. She worked for Altedia in Paris, one of the two leading specialists in this field. Caroline also collaborated with Alsthom Group in Paris, assisting management within the context of salaried-union-media interface.

Caroline has always focused her professional interests on the  individual and conflict in every day life, be it private or workplace. Her aim is to offer resolutions and solutions through the development of clear and structured messages.

Caroline is a trained bilingual English-French civil mediator, a professional activity that leads her to extend her practice of accompanying people in the resolution of their conflicts. She is a generalist mediator and can help in many different areas of conflict thanks to an  18 months training at IFOMENE in Paris  and at CALM in London. She's now very aware of both cultural aspects of conflict and can mediate both in English and in French.

She has spent the last 2 years working as a community mediator for the London City Hall. She's reaching many positive outcomes for her clients.

Find out how mediation works

We can make a difference, here's how.

The mediator can help you "untangle" your conflict in various sorts of situations such as:

Neighbours mediation

Day to day life can be significantly disrupted by a conflict with a neighbour.  All manner of disturbances can be discussed and resolved with the help of a mediator with experience and facilitator skills. I can assist you and your neighbour within the context of a few two hour sessions in order to help restore a normal and peaceful neighbourly relationship.

Relationships with friends

Life is made of friendships.
These valued relationships contribute to one's happiness, self confidence and life balance.
Yet a number of factors can have a negative impact on them. These include family relationships, marriages, break ups, new life partners, changes to life style and job changes.
As a facilitator, I can assist in easing any tension within friendships and enable discussion regarding feelings and frustrations.

Workplace conflict

An independent and neutral professional mediator is the best way to resolve a conflict between two colleagues, in the workplace.
Mediation is an alternative to court. Its outcome often allows both parties to remain in their jobs, as sensible and pragmatic discussions are conducted, the aim of which is a meaningful reconciliation between colleagues. Together we find practical and SMART solutions that are mutually acceptable.
As an external facilitator, the mediator does not take sides and remains completely impartial.

Voluntary organisations

In many respects, voluntary organisations are work places just like any other. However, their workplace dynamics can differ from ordinary places of work as, for example, hierarchy can be opaque or loosely defined. In addition, our experience is that people's commitment to working for a non-profit or a voluntary organisation can vary greatly from that a paid job. Also, management is often based on common beliefs or values in the name of a good cause but might sometimes be seen as "a la carte" involvement.
Mediation is the perfect tool to help untangle these complicated relationships at a low cost.

 School & peer mediation

Peer mediation at school is an ultimate educational tool to teach pupils how to resolve their conflict without any adult involved. I was trained in that field as well and I am providing this training (autumn 2018) and supervising this enlightening experience  at CFBL London (College Francais Bilingue de Londres).
There are a number of actors involved in the good functioning of a school and the happiness and fulfilment of its pupils. These include teachers and members of staff, management, parents and children themselves. With such a high number of individuals. who at times have varying interests, the school environment is often ripe for conflict. Many of  these conflictual situations cannot by solely handled by the school staff, if only because of the sheer volume. Parents are also sometimes overwhelmed, as they face new challenges related to their children entering new stages of school life. Teenage pupils can also bring their own sets of challenges from lack of motivation, poor grades, bullying, anorexia, self harming, alcohol and drug habits or all sorts of addictions.
The role of the mediator is to take into account the situation, both within the institution and outside of it. The mediator will observe the student's family life as well as other institutional or associative actors who accompany the young person in his or her daily life. The mediator's principle goal will be to act as a facilitator in order to rebuild the communication channels between the school, the parents and the child.
A very pragmatic approach is set up, in a quick and efficient manner.

Towards the sphere of  human relationships and its conflicting dimensions
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

"Caroline de La Rochère is a very talented mediator with a high degree of emotional intelligence. Having mediated with Caroline on several occasions, I have seen firsthand her ability to facilitate a mediation in a sincere, impartial and exploratory manner.  I am always impressed with Caroline’s ability to establish an easy rapport with the parties and subtly explore the root of the issues.
Through her experience and understanding that mediation commonly deals with difficult situations, Caroline maintains her neutrality and allows the conflicted parties to voice their unique situation.
As a fellow mediator I can highly recommend Caroline to any parties who are looking for an
exceptional mediator to facilitate their journey towards a solution.
